European Maritime Day 2025 will take place in Cork, Ireland, on the 21-23 May 2025.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are preparing the next EMD and are thrilled to introduce you to the city of Cork in Ireland where the conference will be held as an in-person event (with some live streaming) for 1000+ participants. Have a look at the beautiful video and enjoy the beautiful maritime landscape which will give you a taste of what the next EMD will look like. 

It is the occasion to pay tribute to “maritime Europe” and put all maritime sectors and activities in the spotlight to help European citizens realise the real outreach and variety of sea-related activities going on in Europe and provoke reflection on the crucial role the seas play in our everyday life.

It is the annual event during which Europe’s maritime community meet to network, discuss and outline joint action on maritime affairs and sustainable blue economy.

The EMD is also the place where ‘Ocean Leaders Meet’. It provides an engaging and interactive experience to catch up on the current state of play on a broad range of issues concerning the blue economy and the marine environment and to discuss ways of moving forward. It features inspirational speakers, thematic sessions, stakeholder workshops, exhibition and lots of networking opportunities. The EMD targets professionals from businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs and academia as well as EU citizens interested in the sea.

The EMD will also include the third annual event hosted by the Blue Forum: the Fisheries and Ocean Dialogue.

The EMD 2025 is organised by the European Commission, the Cork City Council and the Irish ministry Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.

Demo 4 of the MAGPIE project will be presenting the ammonia bunkering pilot in the Port of Rotterdam during the World Hydrogen Summit’s session titled “Port readiness: preparing for a multi-fuel future to decarbonize marine shipping” on May 22 from 14.00-15.00. Naomi van der Berg from the Port of Rotterdam will present the demonstrator on behalf of MAGPIE.

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe and is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). In 2025, the 19th edition of EUSEW will take place in a hybrid format, onsite in Brussels and online, on 10-12 June.

This 24st edition of the European Energy Transition Conference, which will be held in Bordeaux, will be the opportunity for the organizers, partners and participants to reassert the main lines of action so as to move towards energy transition that has the support of all the levels of the civil society and the political decisionmakers.
